LuAnne's Six Picks
Our Six Picks series, highlighting the incredible women that make up Team Nest, continues this week with a feature on our amazing LuAnne Kleppe. She officially holds the Sales Director title, but unofficially does double duty as the house mom, the fort-holder-downer and honestly, about everything in between. LuAnne is a problem solver extraordinaire with an amazing attitude. We wouldn't get s#$%t done around here without her and I think you'll see, you'll want her on speed dial as well. We've dragged her away for a quick review of some of her favorite things. Here are LuAnne's Six Picks.
Travel Destination: California road trip! I love researching our destinations ahead of time, and looking for great restaurants or points of interest along the way. One of my favorite trips was from 2012 when we drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco and included stops for surfing lessons in Newport Beach, ATV rides through sand dunes, cliffside dining at the Nepenthe Restauant in Big Sur, and wine tasting in San Luis Obispo. (Mom and Dad need some fun too!). It's been a minute since I've been anywhere other than New Jersey, and I'm looking forward to discovering new places in 2022!
Personal Care Item: e.l.f. Cosmetics Super Glossy Lip Shine. Everything is better with Lip Gloss, it helps me feel a little more pulled together and ready to take on the world! My all-time favorite is Super Glossy Lip Shine by e.l.f. Cosmetics in Watermelon. It was super inexpensive so I used to have so many of them, tucked away in different purses or travel bags, my car and my desk, but they don’t make this particular formula anymore and now I only have one left!
Favorite Food: Gelato! Anyone who knows me would not surprised to learn that this is my favorite food (or really any frozen dessert -- yogurt or ice cream) and I am always on the lookout for new places or flavors to try. I love Salted Caramel, or anything with that salty/sweet combination!
Favorite Book: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which I found through the Reese Witherspoon Book Club. At this time of year, I love to read something light and entertaining, or a story with a setting that allows me to be transported to an exciting place. This book is a journey through the glitzy, glamorous splendor of old Hollywood featuring an aging and reclusive Hollywood starlet. You won't be able to put it down.
Nest Hardware Piece: I just love our Reveal series. All of the pieces really speak to me, from the cute-as-a-button R-01 knob, to the longer R-12 appliance pull -- it feels so substantial, and yet sleek and luxurious in your hand. The clean lines and varied finishes can coordinate with any decor theme.
Mom Hack: Video chatting! I'm officially an empty nester as of this August so now that my kids are older (23, 21 & 18), I don’t need my old tricks to make it through the day. It’s nice to be able to stay close to all of the kids whether they're at college (Purdue and University of South Carolina) or out on their own. We grab a quick FaceTime session to catch up with all three kids whenever we can, or more accurately, when they take our calls. :)
